Why this is different
Nothing gets in here that can't prove it's real. Right now that means the camera in this app, sealed at the shutter, with no gallery access and no import.
Because every post has to prove itself, there's no endless supply of content here, and no strangers. What's left is the people you know, and a feed that ends.
The app only accepts posts taken through its own camera, sealed by the phone at the moment of capture. Nothing is imported, so there is nothing uploaded to detect after the fact.
You see posts from your friends, and sometimes their friends, in the order they were taken. Nothing is ranked or recommended, and there is no audience to build here.
There is a bottom to your feed. Once you've seen everything your friends have posted, there is nothing else to scroll through. You can close the app and come back tomorrow.

Present has never had an algorithm, and has been 16 and over, private by default, since the first build.

Video on Present is six seconds long. You have ten minutes to make it, in as many clips as you like, and they join together in the order you shot them. Undo drops the last clip you took.
Six seconds because Vine was right. Long enough to tell a story, short enough to keep it interesting. And you have ten minutes to capture it.
Every clip is captured in the app and sealed the same way a photo is.
Messages
Conversations on Present happen on the posts. Your friendsmates can join in or not, so every post ends up with a different group of people.
There's no direct messaging here. We have phone numbers for that. Or letters. Or, if you're patient, Roost.
How it works
Everything is taken in the app. There is no upload from your gallery and no import from other apps.
Your phone's secure hardware signs the capture the moment it's taken, before it leaves your hand.
You can caption a post, but you can't change it. What gets posted is what the camera recorded.
Every post gets a receipt: a permanent page showing the capture and how it was sealed. Share the link and the proof goes with it.
Proof that travels
Every capture gets a receipt. When Present receives a real capture, it gives you a receipt, the same way a shop does when you pay. It records what came in: when it was captured, where, on which phone, and that nothing has changed since. Anyone can check it at prsnt.au.
Share one to a group chat, a story, or anywhere else, and send the link rather than a screenshot. Anyone who taps it lands on the receipt, no app or account needed.

Private, still provable
Every post has a receipt, private accounts included. On a private account, every receipt shows just a fingerprint unless you choose to show that post in full.
If you've seen the photo, you can tell it matches. If you haven't, you can't tell what it is. And without the post's code, you can't find it at all.
Obvious now. Impossible a moment ago. That is what one way means.
The archive
Every post you make and every post you're in stays where you put it, in an archive nobody can edit, including us and including you. You can delete a post, but you can't quietly rewrite one.
Ordinary photo libraries drift. Files get edited, filtered, re-saved and moved between phones until you can't tell what was original, or whether anything was changed. Here the receipt is fixed at the shutter, so a post from years ago still carries its time, its place, and the proof it hasn't changed.
It ends, and it doesn't chase you
You've seen it all. The rest is offline. A social app that knows when to stop.

Present proves
A post was captured live, on real camera hardware, and has never been altered since. Anyone can check that at the link, without an account.
Present doesn't prove
That the scene itself tells the whole story. A real photo or video of a staged moment still verifies, because it really was captured. We verify capture, not context.
The mark
Inspired by the way Aboriginal art has long drawn community: concentric circles for a meeting place, meaning people gathered around it. The centre is you. The inner ring is your friends. The outer ring is their friends.

No. It's a pro-proof app.
That's where six seconds comes from. Vine had it right: six seconds is long enough to tell a story but short enough to keep it interesting. Present gives you ten minutes to shoot those six seconds, in as many clips as you like, and every clip is captured in the app and sealed on the phone that took it.
Yes, they can. Present verifies capture, not context. A real photo or video of a screen is still a real capture. Present scans every post for abnormalities, and if anything looks out of the ordinary it's flagged in the app and on the receipt so you can judge for yourself. We also reject images with too much text.
There is no ranked feed or recommendation system. You connect with people and see the posts they make, in the order they happened. The aim is to show you what your friends are doing, not to work out what will keep you scrolling. That is also the feed Australia's My Feed, My Way asks platforms to offer.
No. The rule is that a post can prove where it came from, and right now the app's camera is the only way to do that. As more hardware signs its own captures, phones and proper cameras alike, those get let in too, including photos you took before you'd heard of us. What never gets let in is anything that can't prove itself.
Your friends put them there. When a friend tags you in a post, it lands on your profile once you accept it, taken by them, verified like everything else. There is no separate section for posts you're tagged in, they sit with your own. The posts of you here were made by the people you were actually with.
Whatever your friends call you. A first name is enough. Add initials or a surname if you like. Everyone who can see you already knows who you are.
16 and up, everywhere. We don't believe social media belongs in anyone's life younger than that.
