Every post on Present is a live capture, sealed by the phone that took it, the moment it was taken. No uploads, no edits, no fakes. Here's what that means, and how anyone can check it.
What sealed means
Each capture is signed by the phone's secure hardware, using a cryptographic key that never leaves the device and that Apple certifies belongs to a genuine, unmodified copy of Present. That proves it came from the real app on a real iPhone, not a bot, a script, or a modified copy of the app.
Present has no camera roll, no import, no file picker. The only way a post can enter is through the live camera, in the moment. Video works the same way, every clip sealed on the phone before they are joined.
The capture time is set by our servers at the instant the shutter fires, on a value the phone has to sign and can't reuse. A post can't be back-dated or future-dated. The time is the truth.
The capture is stored exactly as it was captured. No filters, no retouching, no edits, and the record says so.

Present verifies that a post is a genuine live capture from the real app on real hardware, unedited since. It does not claim to judge the scene or anyone's intent. It verifies the capture, not the context: it can confirm where a post came from and that it has not changed, but it does not independently verify whether the content depicts objective reality.
