Colours from outside the window

Where Present's greens, pinks and oranges come from.

I'm building Present near Flynns Beach in Port Macquarie, a stone's throw from the Pacific. When it came to picking colours, I went outside.

I took photos of what was around me and pulled the hex codes straight out of them.

The green is eucalyptus, from the gum leaves. It's the colour of the Present mark and every “Verified capture” badge.

Galah pink is from the galahs that hang around in mobs on the grass. If you look closely at the Galah card on the share screen, there are feathers drawn in the background.

Lorikeet orange is from the rainbow lorikeets, the loudest birds in the trees. Then there's Sea spray, Sand and Rockpool, from down at the beach.

Pick one when you share a post, and it goes out on a card in that colour.
